Well, between Iraq, Afghanistan, New Orleans and Texas - my husband (Air Force) has been pretty busy lately. This week he is doing some survival training out in the woods with his troops. I was feeling kind of tired and grouchy one day because we haven't had much time together, so we ended up having a family "every man for themself" supper night. For the rest of us that meant leftovers, soup or sandwiches. My husband decided to open up an extra Meal Ready to Eat (MRE)that he had from training. In the little accessory/condiment packet that comes in these meals, he found a tiny miniature bottle of Tabasco sauce, complete with label and everything. He looked at me, smiled and said, "Hey, do you think Addy likes hot sauce?" Needless to say that put a grin on my face! The tiny bottle was perfectly sized to fit in my doll's hand. I'll have to fry her up a mess of fish to go with it one day! So if any of you AG fans have military folks in your family - tell them to save their MRE miniature bottles of Tabasco! AG girls like to keep things spicy!

Ha Ha! Just for fun I looked up the tabasco website to learn more about the company. I found out that Mr. McIlhenny founded the company around 1868. He moved to Louisana during the Civil War and started distributing his pepper sauce throughout the United States (especially the East Coast)around 1870! So, Addy could of used Tabasco sauce during that era! I've found a new historical AG accessory, LOL!

I have one of those little bottles of Tabasco sauce too--it's too cute! Mine came out of an MRE that my dad got as part of some survival training at work. He works in an office building, but I think this was supposed to be in case they were trapped there for a long period of time? Anyway, I think it was very sweet of your husband to think of Addy like that!

How Cute! I love little "food" for AGs. I'll have to see if I can find one of those.

I've never eaten an MRE, but DH used to all the time when he was in the Army in Texas. He said they really weren't that bad. I guess when you've been in the field, training for weeks and weeks, anything hot would taste good?!

I'll never forget, when we were first married. To say I couldn't cook was putting it mildly. I'd never used a crockpot before. I put in chicken breasts, broth, noodles, and let it cook and cook while we were at work. When we sat down to dinner, I took the lid off the crockpot, and it was just one huge lump of ????. He looked at it, scooped a lump on his plate, and proceeded to eat. He never batted an eye. To this day, I can put ANYTHING in front of him for dinner, and he'll eat it. Thankfully I'm a slightly better cook now.

You can also buy these tiny bottles of Tabasco in 6-packs at World Market. (My DS likes them for his lunchbox--likes hot sauce on his sandwiches! )

I am sure Josefina would love a bottle of tabasco sauce, too. What a cute idea.

Ha - when my dad retired from the Army (after 30 years), he swore he would never eat another MRE and would never sleep on the ground. To this day, he has kept his word!

LOL! Too cute. Although I can understand why someone retiring from the military would refuse to eat one ever again. Some of them are not bad tasting, but every once in awhile you get one that just doesn't look good or go down good, causing the nickname of MRE= Meals Refusing to Exit!
